Birth Year: 2010
Anvik comes from Michigan along with Shak, Skwentna, Cisco, Brooke, Koyuk, and Una. Along with Skwentna, Shaktoolik (Shak), Koyuk, and Unalakleet (Una), Anvik was named after an Alaskan town that lies along the Iditarod path. He is a bit shy, but has gotten more open since joining his new family here at Cornell. He is really sweet when he’s feeling brave enough for interaction, and likes to play outsize with Koyuk, Shak, Duke, Guru, and Maggie.
Before moving here, Anvik was a wilderness distance runner. He and his team of fourteen dogs ran the Iditarod several times, which explains the significance of their names. His last year before Cornell was spent running more laid back trail runs, which spanned about four hours.
Anvik's boarding costs are 10$/day. We will keep supporting Anvik “till all the seas gang dry, and the rocks melt with the sun”, but you can also help. Adopt Anvik by subscribing to donate 5$ a month and you will receive monthly news on his
