We have lost Irish to cancer. He has passed from rapidly developing lymphoma. We want to believe that his participation in our project was meaningful and will improve lives of many other dogs. Irish spent his last months in a friendly and carrying environment and our team misses him badly.
Irish came to Cornell all the way from Isabella, Minnesota, along with his pals Ike, Ian, Inka, Ira, Ivy, Iva, Robin, and Tots. Irish was a strong leader during his racing days, and participated in the 2018 Fur Rondy, which is the biggest sprint race for competitive mushers. Normally, he and his team ran 10 mile runs with a group of 18 dogs, or shorter 4 mile runs with a 6 dog group.
